Tomorrow at eleven, we have an appointment with the vet. Lena will be put down, she’s not getting better and she permanently has to be administered pain killers. That is no way for a dog to live.

In other news, there is no justice in this world.

No justice at all. Having just lost a dog, I know that nothing anyone says helps a damn bit. This really sucks. =(

I know that it’s little comfort for you right now, but you are doing the best thing for her. It sucks that what is best is also what is worst. You are right; it would be no way for her to live, and because she has been so faithful to you, you have to make the hard choice.

I hope, in future, you will be glad that you were there, in England, when this happened, so you could spend her last days with her, and be there to say goodbye. It would be so much worse if you were in MD right now…but again, it’s little comfort as you go through this right now.

In the mean time, I know nothing anyone says can comfort you, so I will just offer a shoulder to cry on and arms to hug you with–even from all the way in California.

After the day I had, this proves that there really is no justice in this world. I hate the Sky Fairy right now.

But I love you, and my thoughts are with you. ❤

Please call/email/IM/whatever if you need someone to talk to.

This really sucks. (I traveled here from Britni’s place.) Coincidentally, we had to put down our dog (only 6 yrs. old!) a year ago today – time of death: 11:11 am. Hold her on your lap for it, if you can.
